Let’s learn more about Eric Vollweiler. Please enjoy our interview!

How has your career changed or stayed the same from when you first started out compared to now?

Eric: I am being more careful about the events I choose to work on.

In what ways do you feel your career path has empowered others?

Eric: I would say when I have been producing educational panels and workshops at my film events because of the knowledge that the audience learns from. Some of the panels include film financing, film distribution, screenwriting, casting for film as well as PR and marketing for film.

What are you currently working on?

Eric: I am in the process of working on my 5th Sundance Film Festival event with the Latino Filmmaker Network and my 1st event in Atlanta, Georgia which is called the Atlanta Independent Film Conference.

Are you currently seeking collaborations or new clients? If so, please tell us about it.

Eric: I am always open to new projects, but in the past I was working on too many events at one time and that was too much for me. So now I am planning on working on fewer events.

What do you enjoy most about the work that you do and what have been some challenges you have overcome?

Eric: I love meeting creative people in the arts no matter what level they are at.

What else would you like our readers to know about you?

Eric: I am passionate about volunteering with inner city children in the arts, by fundraising for their events. Since I moved back to Upstate, New York I have been volunteering with the Hamilton Hill Arts Center in Schenectady. I would like to do more volunteer work or even work to help these children in the future.

What advice would you have for anyone who aspires to follow your career path?

Eric: That volunteering and interning is the best learning experience for any job you are going to have. I did many internships in theater, casting and at film festivals before I even started to get paid. So I highly recommend it.
