I am a contributing author to 12 Anthologies and co-author to the workbook of my book “Every Beat of My Heart. I am currently writing programs and in the process of doing the groundwork to launch my signature program. “Pivoting With Christian Principles To Walk In Freedom And Purpose — Living Your Best life In Christ.”

How did you get involved with the That Girl community and what do you enjoy most about it?

Barbra: I was invited by Natasha to be a part of a “That Girl” Event (about 3 years ago) and I was asked to speak on “The Gift of Empowerment” for millennial women.

What projects are you currently working on or are in the works?

Barbra: I am in the process of doing the groundwork to launch my signature program “Pivoting With Christian Principles To Walk In Freedom And Purpose — Living Your Best life In Christ.”

What are you most passionate about?

Barbra: I am impassioned about empowering women to live the life God has designed just for them! My mission is to empower women of faith to face real-life challenges, providing real-life biblically-based solutions to live holistic, balanced, and impactful lives through transformational relationships.

What else would you like our readers to know about you and the work that you do?

Barbra: I am in the process of launching my new program. I am a retired RN and I have spent decades assessing thousands of patients, observing, tracking, and correlating presenting symptoms and responses to life situations that often precipitate disease. In my 35 plus years of nursing experience, I was afforded the opportunity of completing thousands of physical as well as psychological assessments in which I observed some of the possible triggers to physical and emotional disorders. Both my training in nursing and my work in biblical counseling provided me with a glimpse into some of the root causes of various diseases, conditions, and syndromes. My life’s ministry works and experiences in the areas of medicine and ministry as well as counseling have given me a greater understanding of human behavior and the interrelatedness of mind, body, and spirit. It has allowed me to witness the damaging effects of the unresolved issues of life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I believe there is so much more today that can be done to prevent disease and treat some conditions differently by getting to the root problem often precipitating the disease and or condition. My program will assist in providing some illumination and practical solutions to some of the causes of disease.

What impact do you want to make in the world throughout your career?

Barbra: I would like to dedicate the rest of my life working with women and providing a collaborative and strategic process for an exploratory pathway that moves them towards personal healing and restoration from the wounds of life to live holistic and impactful lives through transformational relationships. I am beginning this process with my new program “Pivoting With Christian Principles To Walk In Freedom And Purpose ~ Living Your Best life In Christ.”

What has your journey been like being a black woman entrepreneur?

Barbra: I must say that God has blessed me in so many ways. No, it has not been easy, but I have not had any doors closed to what I have attempted to become involved. As I venture into new territory, I will cling to the same faith that has carried me through to the point.

Happy Women’s History Month! What does this time mean for you and how do you celebrate it?

Barbra: Women’s History Month is an awesome time and opportunity to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of women throughout history in various fields such as science, politics, literature, and the arts.
