Happy Women’s History Month We Empower Magazine readers! As we continue to spotlight the remarkable women in business from around the country, next up are Kelli K. Fisher & Tana C. Gilmore, also known as The Matchmaking DUO™.

As seen on Bravo, Fisher Gilmore Matchmaking (FGM.) is an exclusive agency of heart hunters led by The Matchmaking DUO™. Kelli and Tana provide matchmaking services personally designed to accommodate busy, successful professionals who are seeking long-term love.

The success of their career path has been proven by contributing to the Black family dynamic by helping highly successful professionals prioritize a healthy work/love balance.

We Empower Magazine wanted to know more about the business partners and their matching-making triumphs.

What city did you grow up in? What city do you currently live in?

Kelli: I grew up in Plainfield, NJ, and currently I live in Atlanta, GA.

Tana: I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL, and I currently live in Atlanta, GA as well. Kelli and I each spent over 10 years living in the Charlotte, NC area.

What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?

Kelli: We truly enjoy helping professional corporate women like ourselves who struggle with finding the balance between having successful careers and finding/maintaining healthy, loving, long-lasting relationships.

What have been some of your matchmaking triumphs?

Tana: We’re most proud of being featured cast members on a Bravo reality show, Love Match Atlanta in 2022, being the first matchmakers to create a board game “Race 2 the Bling”, and launching a school to teach Dating Coaches and Matchmakers called LovePro University.

Do you believe in work-life balance? If so how do you maintain it?

Tana: Yes, we believe in work-life balance and do a company-wide “self-care day” once a month and incorporate half-day Fridays every week. We also close our office for several weeks every summer (normally in July and again in August) to refuel and recharge as this industry can be energy-depleting because it’s such an emotional business working with clients’ personal lives.

What’s your best piece of advice for aspiring and new matchmakers?

Tana: Stay abreast of the current dating and relationship trends, know your “why” and your niche, and don’t be afraid to take risks.

What’s your best piece of advice for someone looking to start dating after a recent breakup?

Kelli: Take what you learned from the last relationship and use that experience to revamp and do what it takes to make sure you’re back to the best version of you that you can offer a new partner. Allow the next person a clean canvas and be open to love again.
