What do you define as success?
Ashaala: Waking up every day with the awareness of intentionally living WITH purpose, IN purpose, ON purpose! There’s a peace that comes with that and once you have attained a certain level of peace combined with fulfillment, that to me is success!
What was the inspiration behind your brand?
Ashaala: The Inspiration behind my brand came from solving a problem that I couldn’t get answered, so I became the answer. I developed Vocal Nodules early on in my career as an International Speaker and Singer. The nodules caused me a great deal of emotional and mental distress as I lost my voice completely for almost 2 months which caused me to lose money. At the time, I had no health insurance so I had to figure out a way to restore my own voice. Using my degree in Voice Education along with a combination of holistic Pedagogy and dietary practices, I healed my own voice. Fast forward almost 20 years later and I’m helping thousands all over the world find, fund, restore their voices as well.
Do you believe in work-life balance? If so, how do you maintain it?
Ashaala: I don’t actually…lol, I believe in work-life management, especially when a huge part of my life is entangled with serving and pushing others into finding their literal and figurative voice (aka purpose). I do my best to maintain and preserve my mental, social, and emotional wellness with traveling, therapy, exercising my faith (prayer), eating healthy, surrounding myself with supportive family and friends, gratitude and music!
What’s your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?
Ashaala: Do it scared! Perfectionism gets nothing done and limiting beliefs will leave you unfulfilled, full of regrets, and broke. Instead of focusing on the “what if it doesn’t work” mindset, focus on “what if it DOES”! The first place to start is to invest in mentorship with an expert business-minded coach who has a successful track record in entrepreneurship to show for it.
Who is your business role model? Why?
Ashaala: Believe it or not, Grant Cardone. He has literally built an entire organizational system that will outlast him for generations to come. I am striving to get my business operations/systems like that.
Ashaala Shanae has also worked with Latin Artists such as Grammy Nominated, Universal Music Latin Recording Artist, Manu Manzo; Warner Music Group, Pitingo; Sony Music Group, Carla Mauri; Universal Music – Italian Entertainer, and Television Personality, Elettra Lamborghini; as well as a plethora of others.
