Self Improvement Awareness Month Spotlight With Total Branding Agency Owner, Monisha
September is both Self Care and Self Improvement Awareness month. Meet Monisha a woman who through her company, Total Branding Agency, is helping other entrepreneurs with both!
Monisha is a Maryland native with a passion for helping entrepreneurs thrive. We caught up with her and learned more about business and how she’s helping other business owners relax by taking tasks off of their plates while helping them gain a clear understanding of their brand.
What do you define as success?
Monisha: As I’ve grown so has the way I measure success. Success to me now is making God proud. If I’m obedient to what He has called me to do and if he’s pleased, then I’ve succeeded and am succeeding. That’s as a mother, businesswoman, spiritually, financially, emotionally, mentally. I don’t always get it right, but I’m grateful for his grace and mercy when I get it wrong. So, I define success by my obedience to God.
What was the inspiration behind your brand?
Monisha: Honestly, it’s being that sister-friend in business that I needed years ago. I had so many ideas but I never really knew how to implement and in addition to that I struggled with imposter syndrome very badly. While I wanted to establish an LLC I was stuck as a freelancer. But as I would research and grow as a woman I realized there are lots of women who are where I use to be. They need another set of eyes and mind — a creative and strategic mind that can see their business from the outside and help them to strategize and execute. As for the imposter syndrome and things alike, I share a lot of mental health facts for women entrepreneurs on my social sites and in my strategy sessions. At times, we have to pause and speak to the root of their fear, procrastination, or imposter syndrome. It’s always deeper than just “business” for me. I truly care about the women I partner with.
How do you differentiate your business from the competition?
Monisha: I genuinely care. It’s more than gaining a following, fulfilling an invoice, etc. I truly care about making a positive impact on the women I work closely with. I care about them operating in clarity, confidence, and authenticity in business and in life. So, sometimes that means going a little deeper than your business plan but actually taking a look at your life. What I’ve realized is how you feel and what you think about yourself will show up in the way that you do business. From your pricing to the way that you treat your clients or customers.
