Owner of Agape’ Love Senior Care, Tyre Larkins Created A Business Out Of Caring For Others

It is not easy being a caregiver! Meet one woman who has created a business out of caring for others especially the elderly within their homes.

Tyre Larkins is a native of Annapolis, MD. She noticed her love and passion for seniors a long time ago so when the opportunity to get her CNA/GNA certification came, she jumped on it. She now runs Agape’ Love Senior Care. Her main inspiration for starting Agape’ Love Senior Care was her grandmother. Some families are not able to provide the necessary assistance that they may need in the home and some seniors just need companionship. She noticed no matter where she worked, many seniors would prefer to stay in their home. Some families are not able to provide the necessary assistance that they may need in the home and some seniors just need companionship. So, Agape’ Love Senior Care’s main priority is the senior community and being whatever the senior needs to enjoy their golden years comfortably in their home. Outside of business Tyre is also the mother of 3 amazing children.

We interviewed Tyre to learn more about her and her growing business.

What do you define as success?

Tyre: I define success as FREEDOM. Right now that means getting to place where I’m not tied to set a schedule, where I am financially set and am making money while I’m “off.” Having the time the enjoy my family and friends.

How do you differentiate your business from the competition?

Tyre: LOVE. Yes, this is my job, my business but caring for the senior community is also my passion and something I love to do. It doesn’t feel like just “work” for me. I love spending time with my seniors and most of them just need a little companionship.

What’s your best piece of advice for aspiring and new business owners?

Tyre: JUST DO IT! Don’t let fear, self doubt or lack of support stop you from fulfilling your dream. Be your own biggest supporter and motivator. There is someone out there that needs what you offer and don’t let fear stop you from providing it to them.

Who is your business role model? Why?

Tyre: My business role models are Deborah Odum, Terresa, Tameka Cooper and Yvette Larkins. These ladies are all in different stages of running a business. It’s nice to be able to reach out to them and they never hesitate to help me. Whether it’s advice, to answer a question or provide resources. They’ve all made themselves available to me.

What do you have planned for the next six months?

Tyre: My plan for the next 6 months is for Agape’ Love Senior Care to continue to grow and expand. My goal is to have a full home care agency ready to accept clients.
