Celebrating Black Business Month With 3x Atlanta Spa Owner and Self-Made Millionaire Bella Hawkins
August is National Black Business Month and here at We Empower Magazine we are so honored to share with you the success, resilience, power, and journey of 3x Atlanta Spa Owner and Self-Made Millionaire Bella Hawkins, as she shares her jaw-dropping testimony to help others succeed.
This story is a powerful story like no other. Bella is not just a self-made millionaire; she is also a multi-time trauma and illness survivor, including four chronic illnesses, a crippling back surgery, spending and facing time in jail, being kidnapped by a so-called friend, finding out about homosexual infidelity in her marriage, surviving domestic violence and even surviving getting shot in the back; all while providing for her family and building a game-changing business.
She has also suffered the loss of her 17-year-old son Devan, to gun violence, who was her first love and was also always one of her biggest supporters. — Since the brutal murder of her oldest child, Bella has realized her calling to raise awareness and provoke CHANGE within communities and within the “system” to properly prioritize the tragic losses of our black and brown youth, despite the “more marketable” storylines and trends within the News.
Bella strives daily to represent her son’s courage and dedication to his family while he was here, by amplifying his light and his life, and by fighting daily against the injustices that took his life.
Her story has been featured on many outlets and platforms that have the power to reach the masses; such as Fox 5 News in Atlanta:
When you think of your success and resilience story, what comes to mind?
Bella Hawkins: When I think about success and resilience, I think of how I overcame all the adversities that came my way and I still overcome them. Resilience played a major part in my success because I’m a believer of no excuses only solutions, and always look for the positivity in negative situations.
How did you find the courage to share your testimony and experiences with Lupus, and Gun Violence?
Bella Hawkins: It wasn’t hard to find the courage in my testimony and my experience with lupus and gun violence because I am a selfless person and not a selfish person. I know God chooses his soldiers and that my story is meant to be heard. God chose me to serve.
How are you feeling as of late and what are you currently passionate about?
Bella Hawkins: Since the death of my 17-year-old son Devan my perspective on living life has definitely changed there is definitely a birthdate and death date and the impact that you live on earth, as well as your legacies, are the most important things in life.
What are you currently working on? Please tell our readers about your company and the services you provide.
Bella Hawkins: I am currently working on #justice4Devan and my gun violence awareness movement as well as bringing awareness to loving yourself first and putting yourself first. I am a 3x Spa Owner and I am in the process of starting a content-creation space where I can make people feel beautiful and confident about building their brand.
What impact do you want to make in the lives of people you interact with on a day-to-day basis?
Bella Hawkins: My main focus on a day-to-day basis is when I wake up every morning and make someone see the worth in themselves and in loving themselves first, give them the courage to know it could be better, but it damn sure could be worse.
What words of encouragement would you leave our readers with?
Bella Hawkins: Some words of encouragement that I would love to leave the readers with is just to know that all things are possible through Christ; pray manifest and execute.
