As a beloved businesswoman, what are some unique characteristics that keep clients coming back to you?

Shaquin: The characteristics that keep my clients coming back to me is because of my heart I believe. They believe in the work I do in the kitchen and in the community. Not only do I prepare meals for my clients but I give complimentary meals to the homeless, elderly, and veterans on a frequent basis. I do constant pulse checks to ensure the less fortunate have their necessities and they support me wholeheartedly in my city.

Do you feel being an entrepreneur has changed your life? If so, how?

Shaquin: Being an entrepreneur has changed my life immensely. While working in corporate America, I would drop my kids off at 630am and pick them up by 630pm. Bedtime was at 830 pm so I barely had real quality time with them and this bothered me. I now have time to have lunch with them, time to spend with my mother, and real time for myself.

On social media, we always see you smiling, and having fun. What do you like to do in your spare time and for self-care?

Shaquin: They say it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile lol. I’m genuinely a happy person. Rarely do I get upset. In my spare time, I love to listen to oldies on my record player and I love to read as well. I’m so old fashioned so I would go to Goodwill and buy about 5–10 books at a time. On several occasions, they didn’t have the genre I prefer and I was so lost. My friend LaTashia told me to download Kindle to my phone. Honey let me tell you- I read about 15 books a week now if I have time! I’m so simple- Give me music and a book and I feel like I had a day at the spa!

What do you think are some vital components about your business or your entrepreneurial style that our readers should know to inspire them?

Shaquin: The vital component of my entrepreneurial style is that I’m creative. I love to cook but I also enjoy anything pertaining to food. It’s like building blocks or legos to me. I cook…so I created a cookbook….then I created spices to complement the meals…and kitchen cookware also.

What are your future plans and what steps are you taking to get there?

Shaquin: One of my future plans is to create a line of cookbooks for every occasion- appetizers, grill recipes, salads, Cocktails, and so on. I am diligently working to create recipes and content simultaneously to help me reach my goals.

What is a quote that you live by?

Shaquin: Words I live by-

The happiest people are both the ones getting more; it’s the ones giving more.
