Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me. You wear so many hats and so many things. So, who is TeKenya K. Johnson?

Who Is She -I am the mother of two boys who are now college students (Lamar Jr & Joseph Rashun Johnson). I am the wife of Lamar Sr. of twenty-two years! He & I share a partnership & platform called “My Marriage Is My Brand.”

Who Is She: I’m A Secret Weapon! was created by TeKenya K. Johnson (Wife, Mother, Sister, Friend, Entrepreneur, Writer, Business Owner, Inspirational Chic & Visionary) as an outlet for encouragement to help others discover their secret weapons, self-worth which is Affirming Beauty, Love, and Value in oneself and others. What started as a Facebook Group Page.

“Who Is She: I’m A Secret Weapon” with followers from all around the world & different walks of life have now morphed into a Signature “HER BRAVE” Bold Bright Light movement to give consumers FABULOUS products at an affordable price point. Be comfortable with your body no matter what size you are. The styling ideas for all women were created to build confidence in women while feeling and looking their best. The Bible says The Proverbs 31 Woman is Virtuous & Classy.

You host annual conferences and vision board parties. Tell me a little about them.

Yes. My annual “Her Brave” Conference is about women and girls taking a stand of bravery against FEAR! Her Brave Vision Board Activator Parties are about activating your dreams and goals, which are for small to large group sessions for churches, families, girls’ night out/in, schools, colleges, and even businesses. (It is more than just sticking pictures on a board, you know). I have a PODCAST and mentorship/coaching programs for women and girls.

Last year you published the children’s book, “Rosebud’s Glow: Beauty In All Things” Who is your target audience for your book? Why did you decide to write to this demographic?

My target audience for this book is girls between 7-18 years old. I chose to write to this demographic because these are very impressionable age groups. The seven-year-old group is when most are wondering, who am I and what will I be when I grow up. This age group is like a sponge. They soak up everything. The eighteen-year-olds are beginning to take a leap of faith into another age bracket into young adulthood. This is a unique guidebook to help them leap into the next level of their lives.

What inspired your children’s book?

I was inspired to write this because I was once a girl who needed guidance, who needed structure, and who needed a friend. I was the girl who needed help with being rejected from certain groups. I needed encouragement to pull and push me to my next level in life. I needed to know that I had power and was wonderfully made. Every group of people is not yours, but there is a special group perfectly designed for you, and just maybe, you will create a group for others to share with you in life’s beautiful seasons. I wish I had this book/journal and tools to guide me and help me through my younger years.

What was your experience writing children’s books, and did you have any challenges?

My experience with writing this book was taking my challenges as a little girl and sharing my wisdom of experiences and how I learned a better way to become the girl/woman I was always meant to be in different seasons of my life.

What would you like your reader to learn from reading your book?

God has not forgotten about you. You are God’s masterpiece. I want every reader to know that they are unique. There are no other fingerprints and handwriting like yours. There is power in the pen/pencil that you write with every day.

What is next for you in the next year or so?

I am currently writing the next series for 3 of my books. I am preparing for my annual “Her Brave Conference” and assisting others with styling and dressing women from all walks of life. I have several speaking engagements this year.

Where can people pick up your books, and where can people connect with you?
