How did Your Purpose & Business Podcast come about?

Your Purpose & Business Podcast came about due to a desire to showcase thriving entrepreneurs and corporate employees to share not only their success stories but to also highlight their struggles and challenges that they faced in obtaining their goals.

I wanted the podcast to give hope to its listeners to show that we all go through challenging times whether it is in business, career, and life but that we can all learn from each other through guided tools and strategies and have a roadmap to follow along with support.

Our end goal is to inspire our listeners and give them actionable takeaways that resonate with them with a community they can connect and network with.

How do you connect your experiences being a podcast host to also being a Medical Social Worker? Is there any connection between the two from your experience?

Great question! As a Medical Social Worker, it’s my responsibility to objectively ask questions, especially the hard ones that others may shy away from asking.
Oftentimes, this brings out the individual’s vulnerability and it is my duty to foster a safe environment so that when my patients share their experiences, they are not judged and that once they share their experiences they know that support and resources are there to help them with solving their problem(s). As a podcast host, I approach my guests the same.

I believe that it’s our life stories and experiences along with being authentic and vulnerable with sharing ourselves with the world that the audience (my listeners) can really relate. This creates a ripple effect in that they can identify themselves with my guest’s experiences and know that if that person can get through a hardship in life, then so can they. This ultimately empowers them to take action!

In what ways do you make a difference in the world?

I try to make a difference through being of service in different capacities due to
me being a multi-passionate individual. This may be through speaking, training, teaching, providing support and resources. I try my best to meet everyone I encounter “where they are in life and business” and try to assist them with providing solutions to their problems. I like to think of myself as a change agent for humanity.

What was your childhood like?

My childhood was fun growing up in Jamaica, West Indies. I grew up in a household with both parents and my siblings. Being a child that was always
curious about life and always wanted to make others happy, solve problems and have fun, led me to pursue a career and business in the helping field. I believe that my childhood experiences prepared me for how I help and connect with people in my adult life.

What is a quote that you live by?

“A dream is just a dream, a goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline”-Harvey
Mackay

What are some memorable moments in your career so far?

A few that stand out for me are; I have been blessed to have serviced my community and patients as a Medical Social Worker working in healthcare for
over 12 years. In 2018 I published my first self-published Amazon Bestselling
book, “Ideal Career, Ideal Life- Strategies To Live Your Life Fearlessly” that I also copyrighted as the strategies and lessons are one of a kind and are also
relatable that anyone can use to get results in their lives.

I am also proud that my book is included in my alma mater ( LaRoche University) library which is a proud moment for me. I also co-authored another Amazon Bestselling Book- “Faith Forward”. Additionally, having the pleasure and the ability to teach 9-5 millennials on an ongoing basis how to turn their knowledge into income streams while doing work they love is a major passion of mine as well.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently marketing my business course Intention Over Fear that teaches
professionals who are looking to start a side business on how they can get clear
on a business idea and skillset that they can monetize right away to generate
side income that will supplement their 9-5 paycheck.

What advice would you give for aspiring podcast hosts?

If you want to start a podcast, just start. You don’t need the fancy tech or logo,
just know what topic you want to interview people on, reach out to them, record using your phone or computer and share their story with the world. Sometimes we allow perfection to get in the way of producing. The quality is in the message and that is what I believe should be the core focus. The pictures and logo can always be updated as time goes by. Focus on the message, that is how you inspire and empower people to take action.
