Please tell our readers about My Essential Vision Atlas book and what can we expect from it?
My Essential Vision Atlas is a twist on the concept of a Vision Board. Instead of completing a Poster Board, you can put your vision/dreams within the Atlas (which is a book of maps to manifesting your dreams. The book provides instructions and breaks down the 12 major areas of life. The book offers 2 pages for each area.
How did the book come about?
I have never liked doing a vision board, not because I did not believe in the process, I just did not want to hang the board in my home or office as I did not want others to have access to my vision. Also, I always thought about what happens after I complete the board and God gives me a new vision/dream….do I have to create a new board?? The Atlas allows you space to turn the page and add. I retained an award-winning Graphic Design Artist and created the Atlas.
What inspired you to become an author?
This is not my first book. My first book is entitled He is Not A Statistic: 12 Laws for Single Mothers Raising Black Males. I am a single mom and people kept asking me what I did to create a Black male who graduated Valedictorian of his High School, Named NIKE Student-Athlete of the Year, obtained a Full ride NCAA Basketball Scholarship to a Division 1 University, and obtained his bachelor’s degree in 3 years and completed his MBA on the same scholarship in 2 years. I wrote 12 things and put them in a book. I enjoy writing and helping new authors as well.
What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?
I am a natural illuminator. I enjoy speaking and seeing the lights come on for the audience. I am skilled at taking topics that may be difficult and creating a way to communicate them in innovative ways.
In what ways do you use your platform to pay it forward to others?
I have a nonprofit entitled Sabrina’s Girls where I work with High School Girls who get in trouble for Talking Too much and spend time teaching them about how to use their gift of gab for good. I teach them how to create a Keynote, have a glam day, and do a photo shoot, then help them create a Speaker’s One Page. I also, speak at women’s shelters and treatment facilities at Winning at Life No Matter what was in Your Past.
When you think of women empowerment, what comes to mind?
When I think of women empowerment, I think of a scripture in the Bible: Iron Sharpens Iron. Women encouraging one another to speak their truth, chase their dreams and create balance understanding that as women we all are valuable.
What is a quote that you live by?
“People do what is inside of them, NOT what is inside of you” I understand that even when people do something directly to me, it has much more to do with what is inside of them. So, I do not take it personally which keeps my stress down.
What is a super fun fact many may not know about you?
I love and I mean love to laugh and when I laugh hard, I cry and stop breathing like I am suspended in time. My favorite Comedy Movie is the Hangover (The first one). “Not You Fat Jesus” Hilarious!!
What else can we be on the lookout for from you?
I have created a personality assessment model entitled Essential Colors and the next thing is a clothing and accessory line entitled Essential You.
How can our readers keep up to date with all you have going on?
