From your perspective, what makes your business and services unique?
Dr. Shanna: From my perspective, my business and services are unique because I support my clients in achieving their goals by living with intention in ALL things. We all want to succeed but it is important to understand that when we “Say X, Do X”, and this is in your personal life which then translates into your business life, growth, and ability to continuously prosper.
When you first decided to become an entrepreneur what impact did you intend to make?
Dr. Shanna: When I first decided to become an entrepreneur I wanted to impact the masses. As I reflect, I have a passion to impact any person or organization by fulfilling their entrepreneurial passion through a strategic lens. Specifically, I enjoy supporting female entrepreneurs who want to build their businesses.
What type of feedback have you received from your clients?
Dr. Shanna: My clients are open and honest which I value. It helps me grow. From the coaching realm, I have been told that I am patient, I listen and ask the questions that are needed to get my client to the end result. From the Business Consulting realm, I am told my initial analysis of what my client wants to achieve is clearly understood and the toolkit they are left with is extremely valuable.
What is your target market?
Dr. Shanna: To date, my target market is males/females ages 25+ and organizations with 1–5000 employees across business industries that are ready to start a business, transform their business or take their business to the next level.
What are you currently working on?
Dr. Shanna: Wow, so I am such a visionary and strategic implementer.
Currently, I am working on re-launching The Living Room. Some years ago, I had a talk show called “The Living Room” that aired online and on Brooklyn Public Access Television when I lived in New York. The show promoted positive social change through engaged dialogue with leaders and influencers who developed solutions to prevalent issues that impact diverse communities. With the re-launch of the show, I am adding a new ingredient. I want to highlight the work of business leaders that provide strategic solutions that can support entrepreneurial and community growth. This time “The Living Room” will be more resource-oriented, provide strategic solutions, and support the growth and development of others. So definitely stay tuned for that.
I am working on launching my online course “Customer Service with Care”. This is a course designed to support young entrepreneurs on how they get to provide exceptional customers in the service industry. We get so consumed with profit-making and do not take the time to actually read the reviews, and if we do we get offended with the reviews we receive. Well, this course is for those who want to up their game on how to not only attract and keep clients but gain all of the clients’ friends.
And, I am also known as the Committed Action Queen, so I am excited about my 2022 project launch of the “Committed Action Calendar” that will support anyone in setting goals, self-reflection, creating healthy habits, and ultimately living life in committed action.
What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?
Dr. Shanna: I enjoy seeing my clients grow. I am a mother of four and they span ages (25, 21, 13, and 3). So, just as I have watched them learn and grow through experience, self-reflection, and curiosity. I enjoy seeing the growth of my clients. The way we start on day 1 is not the way we end.
When you think of women empowerment, what comes to mind?
Dr. Shanna: Wow, when I think of women empowerment, what resonates with me the most is a saying I share with my clients and my children. The saying is “We Lift as We Climb”. It connects to me as a woman and all of the women that made a difference for me. I am human and have experienced challenges like many. Nonetheless, I have been blessed with women in my life that have empowered, motivated, inspired, and even challenged me to be my best. That is womens’ empowerment. As they rose, they pulled me up. Now as I rise, I get to lift other women.
What do you want your legacy to be?
Dr. Shanna: I want to create a legacy and be known as Dr. Shanna V. the “Light that Lights Others”. I am on earth living my passion purposefully. And, I want my children to live life purposefully with intention, understanding we get to live a life of service, and through service and giving back we will be rewarded.
What advice would you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Dr. Shanna: To all my aspiring entrepreneurs, I want you to live life in committed action. If you “Say X, Do X”. Remember people will always have something to say… so what?? Always be yourself.
