What inspired you to become a writer?

Micaela Thomas: What inspired me to become a writer is my desire to potentially help and positively influence others in a way that would change their lives for the better. To become a strong motivator. My inspiration also comes from knowing that I can tell my own story that won’t be twisted or misconstrued by anyone who didn’t live my truth.

What works have you written or are currently writing?

Micaela Thomas: The current works that I have written is my very first self-published book titled, STRIPPED TO MY TRUTH: UNPACKING THE EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE. This book is a tell-all on my life during various phases and journeys of my life including homelessness, domestic violence, and my biggest struggle with self-awareness. I am currently in the process of writing my second book which is dedicated to parents who struggle in Co-parenting with narcissists or high conflict individuals. I won’t give all the juice on this one just yet.

What other talents or endeavors are you soon to embark on?

Micaela Thomas:  Well, in addition to working on my second book, I am also working on a documentary that will serve as a visual for my first book. And as much as I love writing, I can never forget about my very, very first love. That is music! I love to sing and I will be embarking on my musical journey very soon as an indie artist.

In what ways do you use your brand/talent/platform to empower others?

Micaela Thomas: When I utilize my brand, my talent, and/or my platform, in empowering others, it is ALWAYS in a positive light. It is to let them know, that I am not just someone speaking to you to gain your attention for a few seconds, but someone speaking to you from a raw and genuine place, because I, too, have been where you are. I use it to empower others by letting them know that it’s okay to NOT be okay. But, also to teaching others how to get back to being okay (if not better) by helping them to change their mindset so that they can change their life.

What have been some memorable moments in your career so far?

Micaela Thomas: Some memorable moments in my career thus far have definitely been meeting some pretty amazing people. Whether for an interview or on a panel. Even those who have reached out to me personally regarding how my book has encouraged them in their lives. Those are the
moments that I cherish. The ones that mean the absolute most.

What are some experiences that you overcame that made you the woman that you are today?

Micaela Thomas: There have truly been a plethora of experiences that I have overcome. Ones that were meant to break me, destroy me, and even test me beyond, what I thought were limits. Domestic Violence, homelessness, severe financial despair, and even an ongoing custody battle filled with lies, deception, and slandering of my character as a woman and most importantly as a mother. But those things made me stronger, wiser, and fearless against anything anyone can throw at me.

What do you want your legacy to be?

Micaela Thomas: I would love for my legacy to be timeless and resourceless. I want my legacy to be that my love and my journey stretched beyond family, friends, and established relationships. I want my legacy to be influential and motivating, letting others know that I live(d) with character, conviction, and passion for life and healing. It should be inspiring for others to live as they mean it and to love as if their life depends on it. To go after their dreams and goals by breaking down the self- implicated barriers they set for themselves. This will be my legacy.
