Tammy Reese: For those who don’t know, who is Maisha Beckham?

Maisha Beckham: I’m an entrepreneur and I’ve done a lot of things. I’ve been on tv, radio, and podcasts. I’ve been in the auto industry for 20 years and had my auto dealership for 6 years. I still sell cars, and I’ve owned a pizzeria before. The ten-year later project that I am so excited about is Access Restaurant and Lounge.

I’ve had a restaurant before, and I am doing it again, but on a different level. This go-round will be more upscale because it is half of a million dollars project. I am working with my business partner. This is a huge deal for Atlanta.

I’m also a socialite and an influencer here in Atlanta where I have been for 25 years. I have a good amount of followers on social media and everyone knows me as a businesswoman.

Tammy Reese: What impact do you intend to make with your new business venture?

Maisha Beckham: We don’t have anything here in Atlanta like Access Restaurant and Lounge. It’s going to be a destination spot. The decor will speak for itself with a picture-taking-ready environment.

We will have great food and drinks provided by a great staff. Hooka will be provided outside on the patio.

I want to take it to a whole new level so that Access can be the go-to meet-up spot. People who come to our restaurant and lounge will have access to American, Jamaican, Haitian, and African food.

You will be able to access the space for rent-outs, networking events, seminars, parties, and more. We will have Money Making Mondays, Wine Down Wednesdays, TGIF Fridays, and Sunday Champagne Brunch. I have a wide range of celebrity and influencer contacts who will be showing up, and the who’s-who of Atlanta will be pulling up as well! We’re on schedule and excited to be opening up on April 11th.

Tammy Reese: What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Maisha Beckham: Never wanting to work for anyone inspired me to become an entrepreneur because I’ve always got fired every time I had a job.

Tammy Reese: What has the journey been like for you as a woman in the auto industry which is male-dominated?

Maisha Beckham: It’s been challenging at times but I weather through the storms being the only female. It doesn’t deter me from it though. I still sell cars. I sold three this week. I’ve done it for so long that it is second nature to me. I’m known for selling cars.

Tammy Reese: You have multiple businesses which are so inspiring, how do you balance your family life and your career?

Maisha Beckham: I have a six-year-old son named Kash, the dealership is named after him. When I had him six years ago, I opened up the dealership six months later. It’s called Kash Automotive Group, LLC.

I have daily routines that work for me and my family to manage to be a mother and to be a businesswoman. My mom, who is retired and his dad have been a huge help for me to work through it and balance it all.

Tammy Reese: What are some memorable moments in your career so far?

Maisha Beckham: It definitely would be when I had my son and opened up the car dealership. That was a five-year project which went six years. I am still in the business and still sell cars, I just closed the dealership part of it while I transition to growing Access Restaurant and Lounge.

Tammy Reese: What other endeavors are you currently involved with?

Maisha Beckham: I get new entrepreneur’s businesses funded. A lot of new business owners contact me to assist them with getting business lines of credit. I help with that and with SBA business loans.

Tammy Reese: What are you looking forward to the most?

Maisha Beckham: In the car world, I rolled alone as a female in a male dominating area. Now I have a team and I am looking forward to the opening. It will be hard work, but we will all be working together. I am passionate, determined, and ready! The opening will be the finish line to see the fruits of my labor and make some money.
