I can speak for all who contribute or are Editorial Writer’s like myself, that we are so grateful for the opportunities, love, and support Stephanie gives us. In our current climate, we need to see more Black journalists and writers tell our stories that make an impact, educate and uplift our communities during these continued unprecedented times.

Stephanie is such a one who leads the charge in that effort presenting excellent and meaningful content for our readers. To know Stephanie is to adore her and look up to all she has overcome and has accomplished.

Whoever said you couldn’t come back from a bad situation, wasn’t being honest. Stephanie Davis has the Tenacity of a diamond, the heart of a true leader, and the favor of a Higher Power that allowed her to escape a life of abuse and led her to a successful life as an author, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and now producer of one of the most anticipated awards weekend, 2021 Black Media Honors™️.

A Virginia native, Stephanie has overcome many obstacles such as child abuse, mental health struggles, and more.  She originally began her journey as a federal government employee and eventually, worked an executive corporate job before walking away to fulfill her dreams of entrepreneurship in 2013. Today, she advocates and gives a voice to women who find themselves in similar situations. As a publicist and branding expert, Stephanie works with many brands, business owners, and celebrities by helping them strategize, plan, and even mentor them. Both Stephanie‘s personal and professional experiences have positioned her to be experienced in and share knowledge in the areas of business, marketing, social empowerment, pursuing purpose, and more! Stephanie has been featured in Rolling Out Magazine, TV One’s Sister Circle, Voyage Atlanta, ACHE Magazine, Formidable Women Magazine, and more!

Stephanie Davis, an empowerment expert, strives to exhaust every ounce of passion within her through inspiring others. I can speak to Stephanie about anything and the conversation always makes me feel better, I always learn something and feel uplifted. After being blessed with a second chance, Davis decided that she is going to live by her mission: Empowering others to fully embrace their power, honor their potential, and showcase excellence.

If that isn’t enough to love her and be proud of her, there are so many more reasons. She is the CEO & Principal Publicist of Empower Media Group. Davis is the Owner and Publisher of WE Magazine and Hustle and Soul Magazine, Black Media Honors, Founder of Black Influencers Guild & the Black Media United organization, Co-Owner of Elle Elle luxury fashion brand. SCORE.org Business Mentor and Founder of Empower Cares, an organization dedicated to social justice, educating, empowering, and provoking individuals to pursue a greater purpose.

Davis partnered with TV One to bring to life the first editorial cover for the national, all-African American women talk show, Sister Circle. This project inspired the development of other concepts; branding the Sister Circle editorial as a historical publicity move.

Stephanie Davis has just begun her evolution. She is coming from behind the scenes as she debuts her newest projects “The Right Step” Branding Masterclass and “WE Talks Podcast”. This project will be an empirical journey that will help people embrace the process of pursuing their purpose. Davis is authoring a new book “ I’m Still a Butterfly” due to be released this year. Stephanie Davis Publisher of We Empower Magazine and Hustle and Soul Magazine

Tammy Reese: You have inspired so many through the various multimedia platforms and events you’ve created to empower others.

Who are some women that inspired you along the way?

Stephanie Davis: Oh wow! This could really be a long list lol. I have been inspired by so many women and to be honest many of them are not known to many but mean everything to me.

One of my PR mentors, Ebony Porter-Ike has always inspired me in more ways than one. My grandmother is a huge inspiration to me, and the divine interactions I’ve had with women such as Dr. Cindy Trimm, Actress Erika Alexander, Brely Evans have truly empowered me!

Tammy Reese: You’re extremely talented as a magazine publisher, branding expert, publicist, and entrepreneur. What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?

Stephanie Davis: I love the process of being creative with story angles, concepts, and the process of putting things together. I feel like I’m in my element!

Tammy Reese: I see that you are a Virginia native, how did Atlanta become a part of your journey?

Stephanie Davis: I moved to Atlanta when I came home. I wanted a fresh start, to free my mind and environment of things that no longer served me. But please believe I will always rep VA.

Tammy Reese: Let’s talk about the highly anticipated weekend, Black Media Honors. In what ways will the event change the game for the Media industry?

Stephanie Davis: I’m super excited about Black Media Honors. I’ve been blessed to work with some great leaders in the industry and to do something that propels the culture forward in this industry by honoring those behind the scenes and on the forefront of many brands that we praise every day brings me joy. It’s about putting more value on diversity and inclusion overall. It’s about giving another voice to culture issues.

Tammy Reese: Please tell us about your book “I’m Still a Butterfly”. What was your emotional process while writing it?

Stephanie Davis: Writing is always therapy for me so every time I write a book, it’s an emotional process. I’m Still a Butterfly is about experiencing a metamorphosis.

That’s exactly what I felt while writing it! It was like a spiritual evolution. This unique evolutionary writing process involved the expansion of my consciousness. I can’t wait to share it with the world!

Tammy Reese: As Publisher of Hustle and Soul Magazine & We Empower Magazine, what feedback do you receive from those who read the publications and are featured?

Stephanie Davis: We always receive amazing feedback especially about the experience with our writers. Many are just thankful and appreciative of being featured.

Tammy Reese: Are you seeking more writers? How can they apply?

Stephanie Davis: Yes, we have opportunities to contribute to our publications. We’re always looking for amazing writers that have a true passion for journalism and the culture. Individuals can submit interest to submit@theempowermedia.com

Tammy Reese: Stephanie, you have numerous businesses that you are the Owner and the Founder of, how do you balance family and your mental health?

Stephanie Davis: Great question, I take self-care seriously! I always tell my family how important it is to care for yourself mentally, spiritually, physically, financially, and emotionally. If you’re no good to yourself, you’re no good to anyone else.

So with that being said, I take time to shut off work, social media and I am careful about what goes into my ear gates. The beach is my go-to! I love the water. As for my family, they come before anything except God. I adhere to my business hours as not to interfere with family time.

Tammy Reese: What other projects do you have in the works?

Stephanie Davis: I’m currently working on expanding my editorial portfolio to the luxury space while also expanding our advertising.

Many times black-owned luxury brands do not receive equal opportunity in advertising, placements, film, television, etc.

So I’ve created Noir Luxure to provide advertising space and position quality black-owned brands for better opportunities and visibility.

As the world safely opens up we will continue to execute exclusive events and other projects.

Tammy Reese: How are you celebrating Women’s History Month?

Stephanie Davis: I’m celebrating by celebrating other women. That’s what it’s about!

Tammy Reese: Please tell us a memory during your career when it hit you that you were truly walking in your purpose?

Stephanie Davis: The first award I received as Atlanta Business of the Year in 2017 was evidence to me that somebody was watching me and I was truly doing something right.

I’m so focused on doing the work and accolades aren’t the reason although I’m so appreciative of the acknowledgments. I truly love to empower others and see others win. That’s my win!

Tammy Reese: When was the last time you had a great laugh? What was the laugh about?

Stephanie Davis: Now one thing about me I’m going to get my laugh in…lol Plus I am hilarious at times myself!

I was laughing at myself the other day because I suited up with my son for some basketball one-on-one. I almost forgot how old I was.

My body was aching. He was joking at me lol. But hey laughs are good for the soul!

Tammy Reese: What are some words of encouragement you would leave our readers during these unprecedented times?

Stephanie Davis: Be positive! Stay in faith! And take care of yourself and your family. It’s so easy to get lost in adversity but much better when you find yourself in redemption through the excellence of tenacity!
